Abstract: The strengthening project of the Pancasila student profile is an integral part of the latest curriculum
in Indonesia. One important aspect of it is the understanding of sustainable lifestyles and
responsibility towards waste management. This study aims to analyze the initial understanding of
students regarding waste management in the context of strengthening the Pancasila student profile.
The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection through questionnaires
distributed to 794 10th-grade students from all vocational programs at SMK Negeri 2 Kabupaten
Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia. The results of the analysis indicate that students' initial understanding
of waste management is still somewhat limited, although awareness of the importance of waste
management has emerged. This understanding has implications for strengthening the character of
Pancasila students, who need to be empowered to understand the environmental impacts of their
actions. Factors such as more structured environmental education and active participation in waste
management programs at school can enhance students' initial understanding and contribute to the
strengthening of the Pancasila student profile. |
