Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present a conceptual analogy using sociocognitive constructs related
to individual agency in order to understand organizational agency. In this regard, the manner in
which organizations operate intentionally can be analogously interpreted through the same
theoretical lens used to understand human functioning. Based upon Bandura's social cognitive
theory, essential agentic constructs such as outcomes, goals, efficacy, and reciprocal determinism
will be discussed in order to provide a theoretical framework for understanding organizational
agency. |
