Abstract: The primary objective of this research is to identify the factors influencing adoption of just sustainability at the local level. The analysis identified non-profit organizations as the key predictors of just sustainability, which suggests that grassroots and social movements influence the process of local community change. This further supports the argument that successful implementation of sustainability programs, policies and initiatives requires meaningful inclusion of the voices of local community level stakeholders. Thus, local leaders seeking JSP change would be best positioned with engagement and inclusion of community non-profits in the dialogue of change. |
