Abstract: This study investigated student's views regarding the use of their own videos in classroom learning.
This was a qualitative case study with one (1) female student teacher participating. In this study the
student was video-recorded performing Acid-Base titration experiment. The video was downloaded
online for the follow up tutorials. Data was collected using questionnaires and follow up in-depth
interviews. The results indicated that using a student's own video has cognitive, psychological and
visualization of knowledge benefits. It appears cognitive and psychological benefits derive from the
student's sense of ownership. The sense of ownership in video tutorial appears to enhance student's
engagement in learning and as such has a potential for effective learning. |
